Another reason why rice is big in Asian countries is that it is cheap to produce and has a very high yield. Currently, China and India have two of the largest populations in the world. Their numbers are growing so fast that experts say that in about 200 years, everyone on Earth will be a mix of Chinese and Indians.
To feed the massive population of these two countries, cheap food had to develop and grow. Rice is big in Asia because it's cheap to produce, which makes it abundant and easily accessible. Everyone, from rich entrepreneurs to poor farmers, can eat rice regularly.
